Do I need permission for my Sunflower installation?

Installing a solar panel on your balcony does not require a building permit or prior work authorization. However, it is essential to check that the installation of this photovoltaic module does not violate the condominium rules. As a tenant, the same regulations apply. You can certainly install a Sunflower kit if there is no prohibition in the condominium rules. When purchasing a Sunflower kit, you simply need to declare it to your energy provider by following our guide.

What is included in a Sunflower solar kit?

How does the plug-and-play solar kit work?

The cells in the solar panel capture sunlight. This energy is converted into electricity by the micro-inverter connected next to the panels. The electricity is then fed into your network through the cable that you plug into your 220V outlet. Yes, an outlet works in both directions: it can draw energy and also inject it into your circuit. The electricity flows through your entire electrical network, powering devices in order of proximity to the solar panel. If you produce more than you consume, the electricity, after powering all active devices in your home, is fed into the grid. If you consume more than you produce, the grid steps in to provide additional electricity.

How many Sunflower solar kits are needed for my consumption?

A 440W Sunflower solar kit can produce about 1 to 2 kWh per day if properly installed. This self-consumption kit is designed to power your home directly without storage. One kit can often cover the base consumption (basic needs) of an apartment, but each household is different. We recommend checking your daily base consumption using your recent bills. If in doubt, contact us to determine how many kits would be ideal for you.

What is plug and play?

Specifically, it means "Plug in and use"; everything is ready to go. No expertise is needed for installation! With the solar station, you only need to assemble the mounts with the panels and connect the station to a standard power outlet suitable for outdoor use.

Can I install multiple solar kits at my home?

If you’re also a fan of self-consumption with Sunflower, it is indeed possible to expand your setup by adding one or more kits to your current installation. However, there are limits to observe: the total power of your kits should not exceed 3 kWc if you want to avoid additional administrative procedures. A total power of 3 kWc is equivalent to about 6 Sunflower 440W kits.

Does the inclination of my kit have a real impact on my savings?

Absolutely. The Sunflower kits have a modular inclination which allows you to always have the perfect angle to maximize electricity production. A good seasonal tilt can significantly increase your production by over 20%! This is why at Sunflower we developed our Sunguide, the accessory that allows you to always have your kit at the ideal angle without thinking!

Can I place my Sunflower kit anywhere?

Generally speaking, the installation of a Sunflower kit on a balcony railing must comply with current safety standards and must be done while respecting the precautionary measures which appear in its installation guide. If, however, you decide not to place your kit on a balcony but on the ground at a height greater than 1m80 from the ground of your building (on your roof for example or attached to a facade), installation will require a prior request to the town hall.

How much money can I save on my electricity bill?

Our 440W Sunflower kits generate an average of 600 kWh per year for a station installed with southern exposure in the PACA region. Depending on your electricity rate, this translates to around €190 in electricity savings per year. However, while Sunflower guarantees a quality product, we can't ensure ideal weather conditions year-round. Your total savings will therefore fluctuate based on your solar exposure and local electricity rates. You can use our simulator to estimate your savings here.

What happens if the panels are damaged?

Thanks to the Sunflower warranty, your kit will be automatically replaced in the event of defects. Our after-sales service teams are available to assist you if you notice an anomaly when your order arrives or throughout the life of your kit.

What are the delivery times?

Our delivery times typically range between 3 to 4 business days, depending on product availability and your location. You will receive a tracking number as soon as your order is shipped.

What is the lifespan of Sunflower Solar panels, and how should they be maintained?

The performance of Sunflower Solar panels is guaranteed for 25 years; beyond that, they will continue to produce energy, though with decreasing efficiency. Maintaining the solar panel is very simple: just wipe it with a cloth and water (preferably demineralized) once or twice a year. Consult our technical documentation.

Do solar kits work on cloudy days?

Yes, a Sunflower kit can generate electricity even on cloudy days thanks to the low-voltage technology of our microinverters and our high-performance monocrystalline panels.
